Operations Manager
Salary: £45,000 per annum plus monthly TRONC
Hours: 40 hours per week, working 5 days over 7
Based – Hotel in North Yorkshire
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager – Food & Beverage to lead and oversee all F&B operations across the hotel. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences across all outlets, managing a diverse team of F&B managers, and driving operational excellence, profitability, and sustainability.
This role is food and beverage led but requires strong operational oversight of all F&B areas including restaurants, bars, private dining, and event spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations of all F&B outlets including the Restaurant, Bar, Private Dining, Chef’s Table, and Deer House events space.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop F&B managers and their teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Recruitment & Staffing: Manage recruitment, induction, scheduling, and rotas for all F&B staff ensuring adequate staffing levels for smooth operations.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor and control costs, manage budgets, and optimise profitability across all F&B operations.
- Procurement & Ordering: Oversee ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships to ensure quality, efficiency, and sustainability standards.
- Guest Experience: Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service, attention to detail, and outstanding guest satisfaction.
- Training & Development: Implement ongoing training programs to enhance team skills, product knowledge, and service standards.
- Events Management: Collaborate with events and catering teams to deliver seamless private dining and special event experiences.
- Sustainability & Ethics: Promote and embed a sustainability ethos in all F&B operations, including waste reduction, responsible sourcing, and environmental practices.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in a senior F&B operations role, ideally in a luxury hotel, fine dining, or high-end event environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multiple managers and large teams.
- Deep understanding of food and beverage operations, cost control, and revenue management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for sustainability, high standards, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and special events.
