job Title: Ruby on Rails Developer

Location: Harrogate or Leeds (Hybrid, on-site at least one day per week)

Salary – circa £50k pa

You will play a key role in the on-going development of the platform, architecting and developing a scalable web application. Working closely with the CPTO you will design and build new features, enhance existing features, and take technical ownership over your tasks. Currently only two existing developers - small team and early stage so an opportunity to have a big influence and ship code to users regularly.  Working on the main site application, which is a combination of fullstack RoR web application, API integrations, backend processing.  Enhancing existing features, building new features, manipulating data, aiding customer support with complex issues that require technical assistance.

Requirements and skills:

• Ruby on Rails (3yrs+)
• PostgreSQL
• API Development
• Front-end web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
• TDD using RSpec, Capybara.
• Sidekiq, Heroku, Github, Hotwire (desirable)
• A team player who can operate in small groups or individually
• Confident written and oral communication skills, in English.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain application.
• Collaborate with teams to design and implement new features.
• Manage and optimise relational databases.
• Debug and enhance application performance.
• Assist customer success team with complex customer issues.
